Sultanas are...



sultana=raisin
wheelies=oreos
ice block=popsicle
petrol=gas
post=mail
aubergine=eggplant
courgette=zucchini
capsicum=red pepper
stuff it in the boot=put it in the trunk (of the car)
end of line=end of season (usually posted outside of a store regarding a sale)
jelly=jello
tea time=snack
kia ora=Maori greeting and/or thank you (pronounced kee-ah awe-da and when said quickly it morphs into kee-awe-da)
corn flour=corn starch
milo=cocoa/pero
EFTPOS=debit card
rubbish=trash
end stop=period at the end of a sentence ("it drives me crazy when they say that," says Julia)
"she'll be right"=it will work out
paper=course/class ("I will take a 15 point paper")
quay=street name like terrace/court/road pronounced "key"
