Fair Isle

 

Over the Easter break, I had some time for a project.  I tried to learn a new kind of knitting called fair-isle.  It is stranded style knitting from the British Isles.  I have done lots of Scandinavian knitting, which is similar, but it was fun to learn this new way.  Blocking the hat is a funny technique.  You soak it and then put it over a dinner plate to dry.  It is autumn here.  I’ll call it the Autumn Tam.
