Tramping

In New Zealand they have an amazing set of tramping tracks (hiking trails).  One runs the entire length of the two islands.  New Zealanders ("Kiwis" as they sometimes call themselves) seem to do a lot more hiking than do Americans, on average. We haven't spent a lot of time hiking outside of Wellington, but we have loved hiking in the foothills around Wellington.
